After capturing nearly 200 weddings on video, I can confidently say that wedding days fly by in a blur. It’s so incredibly important to capture it on video, whether you choose to hire a videographer or just hand somebody a GoPro for the day. You worked too hard to plan the wedding to not have video of it!
My style is all about authenticity. As time goes on I really enjoy letting the wedding day tell it’s own story. I don’t try to cram your whole life stories into a highlights video, or force you to be somebody you aren’t just for the camera. Sure, there may be a few poses included – but I really believe the real, lasting memories are in the quirkiness, the gaffes, and the random ‘in-between’ moments. So my videos end up being a mix of staged and candid, real and posed, and give an honest and heartwarming look back on the story of your wedding day.

Pretty much everything. The 5 minute ‘highlights’ video is my main focus throughout the day, so I gather lots of shorter clips to make that happen. But I do make sure to capture all the big moments (ceremony, speeches, etc) fully, so you can watch them back without all the fancy editing. After all the processing, coloring, editing, exporting and uploading, I send over a playlist with about 6 videos in it. So whenever you or others want to watch just the highlights, you can do that – or you’ll be able to do a deep dive and re-live the day in a more ‘unedited’ form.
I’ve got a bag full of just audio equipment for pretty much any scenario, because it’s so important to capture good audio!! I typically use direct sources from DJ/Venue soundboards, and also my own lav mics, room mics, and some nifty voice recorders.
Everything is delivered through private YouTube playlists for convenience. I also give you a link to download the files for any of those videos in case you want to upload them to your own accounts, or have a DVD made or something!
The minicam is a comically tiny camera that sits on top of my main camera, and basically captures with a similar look/feel as an early 2000s camcorder would. It’s half gimmicky and half perfection, and also my favorite camera that I own! I send out that video within a week of the wedding, as a preview. Here’s an example.
